Good morning everyone. We had a bit of rain last night but it's a nice day here in the southwest so it will probably be coming over to you people in eastern parts later. We had our digital switchover last night so it's telly tuning today. One of them is being a bit obstinate and if all else fails I might have to get the instruction book out  Lovely PotD from Jane, wish we had some of the little red chaps round here. David |

Dee's POTD is an example of the power of lighting to electrify an image. Just catching it at the right angle causes the shiny surface of the petals to reflect the sun and make the flower appear to glow. The flower is nicely placed on the horizontal Thirds with the two closed flowers filling in the empty space. Note how the dark foreground has a bright background and vice versa. That helps to make the subject stand out.

TIMING - that's the key factor of bev's POTD. It has caught the moment when the dog has reached the zenith of the leap. The angle of the shot has added amusement by making the dog seem to have paws instead of legs. Above all, the expression shows a dog that is totally enjoying itself.
I think I'm getting old...

Morning Everyone.
I'll get that kettle on!! For some reason I need a nice strong cuppa this morning.
Well done Bevb for POTD. What a gorgeous dog, and caught just at the right moment. Eyes pin sharp and great expression. 
Off to see the parents today, and might go out for a long walk while the good weather lasts.
