The Judges of the Cafe Choice Award are pleased to announce the presentation of this highly rated award: is awarded to memberWAYLANDfor his image"Tandlewood" From the Judges:
"This picture is so simple, yet has so much depth and interest to it. You have the texture the leaves on the ground provide, and the warmth of colour. Then, the simple yet not boring trunks up to the very intricate branches. The fact that you can see hints of trees well off in the distance is what gives it the depth. The fact that the trees are not growing in orchard straight lines keeps it interesting.
Yet another of the nice things about this picture is the gradual change from a blue at the top, generally a cool tone but not starkly so in this picture, and then it goes very smoothly into a purple tone in the middle down to the reds at the bottom. Contrast, yet not enough to take the feeling of peace from the picture.
Congratulations on receiving the Photography Cafe's Cafe Choice Award.
Congratulations Wayland, from the Judges!"

I've so enjoyed viewing this photo since I first saw it in our gallery.
I'm so happy that the Judges have awarded Wayland with the Cafe Choice Award for this beautiful emotive photo.

This is a gorgeous image, Wayland, the red leaves fading into the mist are great. In my experience, although they look simple, trees can be very difficult to photograph in a satisfactory way.
Congratulations on your Cafe Choice award.

Excellent shot. I've seen many 'misty woods' shots over the years, but very few have come as close as this is to prefection.

Whooooo - the spooky woods shot.
I remember thinking how good it was that it went from full contrast to zero contrast with 30 different levels of tree contrast in between - so 3D.

congrats on the award which this image truly deserves............. it is one of my favourites in all the PC galleries. Beautiful capture of nature's beauty at that time of day. Graphically simple but so much to look at and so many variables within it. Really super image.
