The Judges of the Cafe Choice Award are pleased to announce the presentation of this highly rated award:

is awarded to member

YKV

for his image

"The Last Trapper"

From the Judges:
"This is an eye-catching portrait from a gifted photographer.  The pose and expression make for an excellent composition and the frosted beard makes it even more so.  It is sharp and the sepia effect emphasizes the bleakness of this well-titled image. It is also a bit different from the usual popular shots in the Café. изумительный - a stunner, so congratulations  YKV

nb изумительный is 'marvellous'!"

Congratulations YKV, from the Judges!

I liked this portrait the first time you posted it YKV and I hope you will bring us up to date in the Cafe with some of your current work. You have a special eye for the steppes and its people.   Smiley Thumb Up

I love the variety we can get on the board and you have had so many fantastic pictures!  What I like about this picture is that it makes you wonder if it was taken long ago, but also makes you want to talk to this guy and find out his story.  Ie., it is an engaging picture.  Well done and congratulations!

Many congratulations YKV on your achievement, an award which is not often made, in this case a very fine portrait has been given the honour.

I am sure everyone here would love to see more of your work.

A photo that stuck in my mind since I first saw it in the Gallery. That's why it gets such a prestigious award.
