You can give a score of 10 to more than 1 photo, if you believe they all deserve it. You do not have to do all your voting in one session, you can return later. Once you have voted for a photo, the vote cannot be changed, and it is not possible for you to vote more than once for each photo. Vote Here Winners will be announced on Sunday August 26, 2012

This is our 71st Competition here at
 Specific Rules for this competition- Subject: THIS SPORTING LIFE
- Details: It will not have escaped your attention that the Greatest Global Sporting Event is about to be launched in London. Everyone is talking Olympics and we are sure to see thousands of pics in the press and on TV. It would seem appropriate therefore that the Cafe should also join in the fun and run our own competition. The Sporting Life can really cover almost any activity - from beach volleyball (steady lads!) through marathons. motosport, cricket, skate boarding....well the subjects are endless. To celebrate this Olympic Year we would like to see a really wide variety of illustrative images in this latest competition. Every member may enter up to 3 images.
All entries are to remain anonymous without member’s name (including watermarks and copyrights). Also all entries must not have appeared before in the member’s gallery or in a forum in the Cafe or in any set of photos that are so similar that they can be easily recognised. All entries must have a title or caption but no description (or names) which breaks anonymity.
- Uploading dates: 9 pm BST Sunday July 29, 2012 to 9 pm BST Sunday August 12, 2012
- Voting dates: 10 pm BST Sunday August 12, 2012 until 9 pm BST Sunday August 26, 2012
- Competition closes: 9 pm BST Sunday August 26, 2012
- Competition winners: will be announced 1 hour later on Sunday August 26, 2012
- Maximum number of entries per member = 3
- Remember: NO names or watermarks on photos and nothing but a title (Nothing in the description area).

How to Upload Your Photo to the Competition Album - Click on the Gallery button
- Click on "Upload photo". You will then see a series of boxes called "Photo Uploads"
- Click on the first Browse button. A menu will open up that shows your computer files.
- Navigate to the folder on your computer where you have your photo ready to be uploaded to the competition. For best display on most computer screens they should be up to 800 pixels on the larger edge and a maximum of 250K in size.
- Click on the file that you wish to upload and then "Open".
- You will now get the message "1 uploads was successful"
- You will now see the photo you are uploading. Choose the album where you wish your photo to be placed in the drop down box that says "select album". Click on the drop down menu and then click on the album that says, "Current Competition~This Sporting Life".
- Type your descriptive title for your photo on the TITLE line.
- When you have done this, you will see the message, "The previous file was placed successfully. You have successfully placed all the photos".
- Click "Continue" (You will have clicked on the word "Continue" 4 times.)
- Your photo is now uploaded but you will not be able to see it until we open the album for voting on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, evening.

local sports day, people running, or even non Olympic sports, cricket, rugby, or even spectator shots!

I was thinking more of swimming, boules, badminton - if I can catch the holidaymakers staying here in the act.... I wish I was near the seaside, then I would definitely include sailing.
I wonder if anyone will actually be able to contribute photos from the Olympics?

Not all... but you know the entry does not have to be Olympic, anything sporty Glad we've sorted that out. Though with your photoshop skills Beryl, I don't know if anyone would know whether you were actually there or not.... Now there isn't anything in the rules to say you can't use PS, or it can't be funny, is there ? |

Well I was wondering how I could get Olympic shots you see ( not readling the thingy propely) sogot outmylittle Nkn oolpix andfired away.(Had to e swimmimin. I'm a Swimming teacher)
Ha ha . Not bad for a TV photo I think . Lol
