What is everyone up to at the week end. Not quite sure yet what I'm doing it depends on the weather, which hasn't been too good of late. Maybe Harry will brill some good stuff up when he arrives at the weekend.  Tongue

By catching the light when it was low in the sky, Sheryl captured the long shadows that made the church stand out as if in 3D. It also gave the scene a nice soft yellow tint.

The colors on the church echo the sky nicely: the sunlit parts, the sky near the horizon; the shady parts, the sky near the top of the image.

It is the pastel treatment that gives Karen’s shot the edge. It gives the buildings less prominence whilst bringing out the blue of the bridge and the greenery. The church is nicely positioned off-centre.

In any photo of a person or animal, the eyes are a key feature. So when the eye is the only strong colour in the image it attracts your attention. Dee’s POTD used this well.
