PHOTO OF THE MONTH
FEBRUARY 2011 David
by lainey   From lainey "David" was taken on my first practical night with my new club; David is actually a friend of one of the members and is very active in amateur dramatics, so asking him to do stuff and different wasn't a problem. I set the lights - both with soft boxes - up with the main light to David's left, with a quarter fill in light directly in front of him. I stood to his right and asked him to look back at me, this resulted in some lovely shadows down the right side of his face highlighting his skin detail. this was the shot that I knew was "the one", I only took a couple more after this. Settings were: F11, 125th sec at iso 100. Processed mainly in Lightroom but finished in CS5. Samsung GX20 with Pentax DA 50mm macro (brilliant portrait lens). thanks again for making this image POTM, am really thrilled to receive this!! lainey.
