Pete's picture of the deer has captured it in the classic (and magnificent) pose. The DOF gives sufficient blurring of the background to make the creature stand out.


The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

The key feature of branny's POTD is that it contains a high contrast foreground. This shows up the low contrast that is the mist.


Evening news is where they begin with 'Good evening', and then proceed to tell you why it isn't.

It's the magical lighting that makes Tina's POTD such a winner. Despite the contrast being dramatically high, the detail is still retained throughout.
