Just popping in for a warm mince pie and to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas. Lots to do today and will be chilling out for a couple of days over Christmas, hopefully with a new lens.... Smiley so I'll catch up with you all later.
Stay warm, get well any poorlie ones and travel safely if you're off visiting folks.

Branny's POTD takes us on a walk in the snow. Your eyes tend to follow the path because the Wall stands out dark in a field of white. The footprints in the snow disturb the light to give a distinct track to the foreground and the walker shows that to be the route.

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CRISIS
'Twas the night before crisis, and all through the house, Not a program was working, not even a browse.
The programmers were wrung out too mindless to care, Knowing changes to cutover hand't a prayer.
The users were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of inquiries danced in their heads.
When out in the lobby there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my tube to see what was the matter.
And what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a Super Programmer, oblivious to fear.
More rapid than eagles, his programs they came, And he whistled and shouted and called them by name.
On Update!  On Add!  On Inquire!  On Delete! On Batch Jobs!  On Closing!  On Functions Complete!
His eyes were glazed over, his fingers were lean, From weekends and nights in front of the screen.
A wink of his eye, and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, Turning specs into code, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger on the "ENTER" key, The system came up and worked perfectly.
The updates updated, and deletes, they deleted, The inquiries inquired, and the closing completed.
We tested each whistle, and tested each bell, With nary an abend, and all had gone well.
The system was finished, the tests were concluded, The user's last changes were even included.
And the users exclaimed with a snarl and taunt, "It's just what I asked for, but it's not what I want."

Just when you think that every take of St. Mary's has been done, Dave's POTD proves us wrong. The strength of this image is its unusualness.

Cecil B. DeMille was once asked why he made so many biblical motion pictures.  He answered, "Why let 2,000 years of publicity go to waste?"

The muted tones in Anita's POTD serve to accent the brighter colours of the bird. The bird is nicely off to one side of the picture and facing into the middle.

Two wolves were looking at the first wagon to cross the Rocky Mountains. One turned to the other and said "Look - meals on wheels!"
