One of the pictures that I like may not be such a big pick with others. That is “Starting him young.” But that’s because I remember spending a few hours with Joseph and enjoying us entertaining each other. Then there are the four that remind me of our photo shoots together.

But the best picture, in my opinion, is “Friends” because the two birds form such a good composition.

Congratulations on being selected for the latest Photo Parade, Harry!
I have to agree with BigAl & Pipeman about "Friends", although I'm also very keen on "Passing Storm".

The drama of the low sun catching the light-colored buildings so they form a bright silhouette against a brooding sky as in Evening Light, St. Mary's gets me pretty much every time.  I can almost smell the smoke in Sunlight and Smoke.  Although lit more conventionally, Autumn Stroll is pleasing too.

Now that I am at home on my calibrated monitor rather than at work, some I thought were muddy and underexposed look a lot better.  I didn't comment on them before because I suspected the display to be at fault.  I can now actually see detail in the shadow in Breakwater.

Good to see some of your work put together here, Harry. I really like 'Sunlight and Engine Smoke' which I hadn't seen before. Looking at the date, I missed it as I was on holiday in France. I'm enjoying 'Evening Light, St. Marys' too as I've just come back from Northumberland and took a ride out there a couple of evenings back. Unfortunately the tide was out and the sky was a bit too clear.

I also like 'The Flautist' which I think is a particularly good street shot. All in all a great selection of shots.

What a super collection Harry! I've really enjoyed viewing these. I'm struck by your wonderful appreciation of that fundamental element - light. I'm especially taken by 'Breakwater' for it's almost abstract composition, and by the painterly quality of 'Evening Light St Mary's'; but I'd be equally happy to hang Passing Storm, Sunlight and Engine Smoke or the other Evening Light on my wall....  I certainly think you are setting a great example for your young pupil and hope he follows closely in your footsteps!
