What, for me, makes Jonni's POTD a winner is the novel approach. You can imagine the image with the standard white background - it would still be nice. But the black background and artwork take the image to a different level.

Excellent detail is the winning factor of Terry's POTD with the DOF dropping off just enough to take out the hard edges of the grass. Note the subtle blues in the reflections on the water.
