I was wrong on the first car picture, the diamonds and the green peppers but 7 out of 10 is not bad I suppose.

Assuming that you can't tell which is true and which is fake and don't assume that exactly 5 are real, you still have a chance of about 5.6% of guessing at least 8 of them right.  If you assume (correctly) that there are exactly 5 real photos, the odds will change.  By how much I leave as an exercise for the reader. I got 7/10.  I wonder if anyone would admit to getting 5/10 or fewer...

I got 7/10.

The first one (BMW in front of gates) fooled me - and that's some awesome graphic design! Looks VERY realistic.  I also got the diamonds wrong, and the corkscrew (which I decided was CG because it looked relatively easy to do, and there was no detail of imperfections in the metal, as there was with the nut and bolt).

...  If you assume (correctly) that there are exactly 5 real photos, the odds will change.  By how much I leave as an exercise for the reader. Wink

There are 252 permutations of 5 from 10. If you get one answer wrong then you have to get a second answer wrong to balance the '50-50' count. Thus, there are 5 single answers that you can get wrong and 5 possible alternatives for each wrong answer. This gives 25 ways of scoring 8 out of 10 and one right answer.

The chances of scoring 8, when knowing that exactly half are real photos, is therefore 25/256 which is (approx) 9.9%.

BTW - the "252" = 64 + 32 + 16 + 8 + 4
- a rationalised expression because the formula involves factorials, powers of 2 and a complex division in which much of the numerator and denominator cancels each other out. I can't type the symbols in.

Now how sad is it that I carry such useless math in my head.

I just put that into an online translator, but I still can't get anything English out of it! Cheesy Wink

Oops! Embarrassed And don't feel bad about getting only 5.  So far, nobody here has reported getting more than 8 right and some you simply can't tell whether they are real or not.

Well, I almost got 10 out of 10 but I was figuring one of them would probably throw me so I second guessed myself and said the coffee cup was real even though I was sure it wasn't.  Grr...they do tell you not to second guess yourself.

Anyway, got 9/10.

Oh, and I went back and took it over again to get to the bonus round and got 4/4 on that one, but I think that round was a bit easier.   Smiley
