Art is a selective re-creation of reality according to an artist's metaphysical value-judgments. An artist recreates those aspects of reality which represent his fundamental view of man's nature. So now you know!

A purely random test here. I've just taken a look through recent PotDs. 7 pics taken with Nikons, 3 pics other makes and I had to go back 11 days to find 1 pic taken with a Canon.

Well - I give up!! You lot deserve each other - this is like saying...I don't know Mercedes are better cars - better for what? Better for driving, what sort of driving? It's based on some partial truth, Canon make some of the better DSLR's on the market as well as some very good Point and shoots also they make some super upmarket lenses - but the kit lenses are nothing special - not bad - but no better than others and actually not as good as some. Nikon Make some nice lenses - some of the kit lenses are great but not as good as, or as expensive, as those top Canon lenses Horses for courses I spose You could go on and on - there is always something somewhere better

Michael, you sound absolutely reasonable to me. David...you do realize that Canon people probably are just out taking pictures more or are just not posting their pictures in here because the fine art museums are asking them not to put their work elsewhere to let them have exclusive rights.

At the end of the day - does it matter? I was convinced I was buying a Canon - but once I had tried a couple in my hands - I found they didn't fit my hands quite right, I didn't like the controls and the Nikon I tried fell straight into place for me. Nothing wrong with either of them - I just fitted the Nikon better at the time. You see great photos taken on all sorts of cameras. I am glad we don't pursue this line of argument but related to the people who take the photos... I'm outa here for tonight - happy bickering

Well shooters-desire may have crossed over to Nikon, but has the 'Old Snapper' crossed in the opposite direction?
