Love those scones, Rich.  Did Wendy make them?

Thanks so much!

It's so nice to see the POTD today as Roses are one of my favourite flowers and so nice on my birthday!

This reminds me of the debate on how to pronounce the word "SCONE."

Apparently, when it is still on the plate, then it's "scoan."
But, when you've eaten it, it's "sconn."

Good morning. Hope all is well. Another dry day here. Fingers crossed for it to stay here till weekend. Outside of my house is getting painted.
The scone debate is good. Up here there are two different ways of saying "crumpet". From some areas its "crumpet" and from others its "crimpet".  2funny I bet that happens all over.

Anyways. this morning i have a delight for you. Strawberries and cream. All lined up in bowls on the counter. There also are jugs of fresh chilled cream to pur over. Please help yourself and enjoy. There is also tea/coffee.

Congratulations RonP on a fab POTD  Thumb Up Thumb Up

OK I'm off to work. Please make sure and leave some strawberries and cream for the night crew who come in , in the afternoon.  Smiley Smiley

Ron's POTD is a nice example of keeping it clean and simple. The subject is both the lighthouse and the leading stones and there are no strong distractions from them. Notice how the horizon is one-third up from the bottom and the lighthouse is one-third in from the left. This use of the Thirds makes for the ideal composition. Finally, look at that sky - it has a great range of brightness from small patches of pure white to mid-greys which form radiating lines that give a sense of depth to the image.

You might be a redneck if...
...someone asks to see your ID and you show them your belt buckle.
...the primary color of your car is Bondo.
...directions to your house include "Turn off the paved road."
...your dog and your wallet are both on a chain.

Good morning everyone.

A great PotD today from RonP. Excellent for all the reasons Al's mentioned above. Lining up the lighthouse like that is one part and getting the weather' with you is the second part. The last bit is getting the camera and processing right and bringing it all together. Well done, Ron!

Strawberries and cream, that's a treat, Karen. Do you mind if I have some muesli with mine for breakfast with a nice cup of tea? It's a lovely day here after a real downpour yesterday afternoon and evening.

Have a great day and see you all later.

Thanks for the votes and kind comments folks, I really appreciate them, this is why feed back is so important to me and helps me to improve my image's, after reading Al's comment's I am well chuffed, "Thank's Al"  Thumb Up

Keep up the good work folks, I always look in and are waiting for Karen to put a good recipe on for Short Bread biscuits, make my own twice a week, but they are no patch on the Scottish version, used to spend a lot of time at one of my old companies premises on the outskirts of Glasgow and one of the secretaries Margaret Milligan used to make the most delicious shortbreads, melt in the mouth version.

Have a good day, off to cut the fir tree's.

TRY THIS RON..........

455 g unsalted butter
625 g all-purpose flour
200 g white sugar

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Cream butter and sugar with mixer. Add flour and mix with a wooden spoon. Use hands to thoroughly mix.
Press into a jelly roll pan. Prick to bottom all over with a fork being sure the fork hits the bottom and the pricks are close together.
Bake for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 300 and continue to bake for 40 minutes more. Wait 2 minutes then cut into finger size bars. Cool thoroughly in pan.

Well, this photo of Ron's was my choice for POTD today!  I voted for it.  Congratulations, Ron!  I would like to see it enlarged and framed and hanging on my wall!  2funny
